yeah I can imagine you would want to do something to prevent that happening again. I need to replace my latch cable cause I've had some times when I was driving down the road hit a bump and my hood would come loose just not fly up, its not fun

Sounds good, keep the latch but toss the hook part of it up front.

I kept everything the pins are to make sure I keep my hood.
When it flew up I cost me about $250.00 to get it fixed.
It wiped out the cowl area.

i was thinking about getting some too since i can see my hood "fluttering" at higher speeds. my question is: can you keep the stock latch and stuff? that way noone can open the hood without getting inside the car. plus its extra security.

I still use all my stock stuff. If someone pulls the pins they WILL NOT be able to open the hood.
It is just extra security for me.Some on at one time riveted the latch inside my hood and the rivets broke and my hood flew up.
So thats why I installed them.

It was pretty easy to install. There was a indent on the inside of the hood.If you look you should see where I am talking about.
If you want an idea of about where go back one page in this post and look at the pic I posted.
The only problem I have is the hood rubs on the pin and squeeks.I have to drill the hole a little bit bigger.
Also to help with flopping I installed a spring on the pin that I took from a shock setup on an RC Car.

I was just thinking, when i finished getting my hood all lined up, i need to get pins. on a GT the lines are gonna look AWESOME OB i like the ones with the key, so u can lock it and nobody can get in, but they look the dumbest so let me get this strait, you gonna keep the hod realease inside the car. so all you have to do is pop the hood fom inside, pull the pins and lift it? or do you have to pull the pins and then release the hood from inside?

I can pull the hood release on my car before I pull the pins. Then it just puts some pressure on the pins.
