Default was this a mistake buying this?

ok i just bought a replacment k&n cone filter( its like 14-16 inches long). Was that a mistake buying that? should i have gone iwth a CAI?

you can use that cone but make a shield to protect it from the heat of the engine

honestly man, you should of just stock with a stock setup with a K&N panel filter. CAI are nice sounding but they in tests dont offer over the stock setup. now a ram air style is alot better then just a fender mount. now if you have a fender mount and can direct incoming air into it youll be better off

or you can do what im planning on doing and put on a mach 1 hood with the ram air kit that gets air from the outsideand the fender for the coldest air you can get

actually those cone filters in the engine bay are not a good idea..all you get is hot air and without a shield air just washes over the filter and will mess with your idle

you could sell the cone filter and buy a K&N panel filter and put your stock box back on. also if you do that cut the hole inthe fender to the size of the stock box to get the maximum air
