Maf conversion help
on a sd car 87 what harness do you need between the driver side and harness for the injectors, friend of mine says he got a newer computer and harness but now he has two female ends from the injector harness and on the driver side, not the computer side. I have no idea waht he is talking about as far as i know you just needed a computer harness maf and harness for the maf sorry for such little info but he and the car are no where near me anymore
You don't even need the computer harness. To swap from sd to mass air, you just need the air meter & a mass air computer, then you run 4 wires through the firewall grommet. If you're trying to mate a mass air engine harness with a sd body/dash harness you're going to run into connector problems. I've done a few v8 swaps & rewired a few foxes & i've only ran into one case where the body harness matched the dash, but the dash didn't match the engine. From what i've seen they seem to have changed at least 2 wires for each year, sometimes completely different connectors. From small dual plug on the dash harness, to single large, to dual large, fuel pump relay on outside, under drivers seat.
Chances are you're going to have to hack up a harness if you're trying to mate a mass air harness. I would recommend either getting a complete harness out of a mass air car or putting the speed density harness back in & running a few additional wires for mass air (you'll need to repin a couple too, which isn't hard)
