Ryan, you should just need to send power to the trigger wire/terminal of the starter solenoid. Why do you wanna mount one?

If you need to start it from under the hood, just leave the key on and bridge the terminals on the starter solenoid. No mods needed.

it connects to the seloniod. I used to have one on my black car. I was running a solid roller so it came in handy when adjusting valves. I cant remember exactly how i had it wired and the car is gone.

What year is your car? Look at the starter solenoid, there's a thin red wire going to one terminal. Take that wire off, and bridge it to the big terminal closest to the firewall. The car will turn over. If you want to wire a start button, just connect the switch to those two terminals and when you press the button the motor will turn over. The key will have to be in and in the run position for the car to actually start.
