Default GIONG CRAZYYY help me select a cam! pls

still debating wich cam to use to go in my truck ( 1989 F150 reg cab 5 speed short box ) with the new 5.0HO carbed engine

the E303 cam ( notes : not good for a truck )

the 35-422-8 Comp Cam ( notes : too much lift needs new PR and few other things)

The
COMP Cams 35-421-8 ( PErfect duration PErfect LIft) but notes says : FOR ENGINES THAT DID NOT COME FROM FACTORY WITH ROLLER CAM

this cam the 35-349-8 (is perfect !!!! ) but not for Carbed engines
LSA need to be lower fr CArbed engine ( a comp cam tech told me that )

your engine dont know if its efi or carb so the whole lsa thing isnt totally accurate. you generally want more lsa with efi to help the idle, carbs arent as sensative so you can run 108, 107. on my last motor wich was efi my cam had 110lsa with big duration with some decent lift(.576") car idled at 1k no driveability issues at all.

stroker cobra, all the duration is going to do is shift your power band lower in rpms basically.

why does the stock cam make peak power below 5k? looks at stock cam specs.

im 99% sure you will be very unhappy with that cam, honestly. if anything, i would have went with a little more duration and a little more lift with the rpm heads if i had to do it over again.

just b/c it says it wont work with efi does not mean it wont work. its just going to need a tune.

you will always need a different length pushrod if you stick a new cam or head on the motor.

i will be using carb and stock Gt40 heads..

so wich one do you guys recomend?

i know about the duration thing that it shifts the power band.. i just tought lower powerband torque is better for a truck right?
