line lock before proportioning valve??

line lock before proportioning valve??
Why couldn't you put the line lock between the master cyl and the proportioning valve? That's what I did on the last car I put one on and it worked fine, but that wasn't a mustang. Is there something about the proportioning valves on the mustangs that makes it not work right that way?

RE: line lock before proportioning valve??
vfast thanks for the reply but that didn't help answer my question.
I realize that the instructions for most line locks show you to run the lock after the valve, but is there any real reason to?
With installing it before the valve I didn't even have to bleed the brakes, just make sure the master cyl was full then let gravity bleed all the air outa the line before i tightened it down. There was no change in the way the pedal felt so I didn't bother with the bleeders.

RE: line lock before proportioning valve??
1st off, I'll admit I'm not an expert on this subject.
But it would seem to me if the line lock was before the valve, then when you step on the brake and lock it, then it will still have pressure on the rear brakes. Probably not enough to "lock" them, as the front always gets more pressure, but still, it would have some.
Putting the lock after the valve (and on the front brake line) ensures that once you lock it and release the brake pedal, then only the front would have pressure, and the rear would be completely released.
That's how I picture it anyways.
