im calling bs for real and going to the junkyard and pick one up and replace it myself i just need to know which transmissions will interchange

also the trans now seems to shift way too soon ex it doesnt stay in gear long enough and i was wandering how this is adjusted

any help would be greatly appreciated thanx

Jeez, I agree. For about a hundred more you can get an Art Carr c4 race prepped with trans brake.
The adjustment on an aod is complicated, beyond me, sorry, I've never done it, but involves placing a pressure gauge on the tranny to adjust the cable to the proper length. I've also heard of guys that just pull the cable as far as it will go and attach it to the tb, and it shifts fine. Mine came off once, and I drove it home in D, luckily suffering no damage. The tv cable had come off, it would just rev in OD. I don't want a stick, I'm old and lazy, but I'd certainly check out art carr's web site, or go for a "strong" aod by lentech.

1300 is crazy...you can put new seals in about 20.00...I would go ahead and put in a oil pan rear seal while out..put in a stall while out and shift kit which is easier to do out of car..pump is like a 100 or 2..
I go to the "Ecology" self service yards, and they offer an interchange service for free. They even gave me a print-out. Transmission shops can vary on their prices and honesty. Did you shop around for the work? I know of one person that took her new car in for scheduled trans fluid change. The mechanic showed her the little particles that all new trannies have on the first fluid change. He tried selling her some unneeded work for a lot of money.
