Trick Flow top end kit problems
hey guys i'm new here and require some of your expertise...
i installed the Trick Flow twisted wedge track heat top end kit on my car, upgraded to a 70mm throtle body, headers, 24lbs injectors... and my car is having really bad idling problems, and whenever i would give it a shot of gas the rpm doesn't go up instantaneously like it used to, it lags.
Now, i called up the store where i pretty much bought everything (mustangsunlimited.com) and they told me that it will be really hard to tune the 88 mustang with this kit because its not a Mass Air Flow system, so they suggested i buy a whole MAF kit and then tune it cause it will be easier and it will have more power in the long run.
Anyone have any idea if this is true? if yes, then great i know what i have to do!!! but is there anything i could do to avoid buying all of this?
please keep in mind that i'm new to all of this... hope someone can help.

from what i heard it is true to properly get a sd stang to run correctly with high performance ungrades you need to convert to mass air. my car was converted when i bought it so i really cant say yes but im pretty sure you need to.
You must convert to mass air. SD takes it's reading from the vacuum on the intake and now all that has changed. I did the same TF swap as you and also converted to mass air and even still I had idle problems.
True,
You need to let the ecu account for the new cam, and the injectors.
Converting to MAF will take care of both of these issues...
OR
Look for someone to custom tune the SD ecu... but good luck finding anyone, as there aren't many places that will mess with SD.
