do you think a cobra upper is worth $80
..will the cobra upper work with the explorer lower?

Yes...The upper is worth ALL of $80....and YES, the Cobra upper will work with the explorer lower (it is GT40)

wait will it fit the 95 with the elbow adapter ...i think that it might be to tall for the strut tower brace?

You can use the same set-up as a 89-93 Fox (without the elbow)...just have to change the throttle cable to use the Fox body....if this is for the '95...

Your options are simple....don't use an aftermarket intake....lose your factory brace....get an aftermarket brace that will clear an aftermarket intake.
