Gears, exhaust, and intake. Get you some decent gains. Gears are definitely the best bang for your buck though.

Cheap power? well the basic stuff, Timing, Air silencer, CAI (its cheaper if you don't get one with a name on it, unless you think a pipe that says BBK makes air move beter than one that doesn't...) K/N filter. thats all under what, $100-125? Exaust isn't to bad either, Off road H-pipe and Flowmasters (or your choice) make a good gain for not too much cash. The Explorer swap is also good, Don't know how much that goes for, depends on how smart your Junker dealer is.

And gears...don't add anything, but they sure do help you feel what you've got.

I forgot to mention Underdrive Pulleys, for less robbing of power by the other less usefull stuff on your car, (But I have heard that this might require an Alternator swap...)

Yea, i had underdrive pullies on mine and i had the stock alternator. I would nearly stall if i turned on the vent and/or headlights cause the alternator was barely producing the power with the underdrives. I upgraded to a 130amp and it did slightly better, but if you have a cd player and want to turn on anything else at the same time, underdrive pullies really hamper your power supply to have on multiple things at the same time. At least thats what happened to me and a few of my 5.0 neighbors here in town

OK I have 3.73 gears, shift kit, Flowmasters with H pipe, and a K&N air filter, other than that stuff what is inexpensive and adds descent power, I mean i can already rolling 30 to 40mph punch it and it will smoke the tires. shift kit does wonders to acceleration

correction...3.73 gears do wonders to acceleration.

by shift kit... do you mean short throw shifter?

timing bump.
if its just the K&N filter, a hard piped CAI is the next step up...and it looks cooler too.

Your running out of cheap stuff...lol.

shift kits are for auto transmission...its like a short shifter, makes an out shift quicker/harder.

you're about out of cheap mods. next cheap mod is nitrous or HCI for more power

IMHO though if you can smoke your tires at 30-40mph you need to upgrade your suspension. thats much cheaper than any HCI or nitrour and that means you can better utilize you're current power to make you faster. suspension is some of the most overlooked mods by street cars. I can hook pretty damn good on street tires on a hard launch,
