My set-up was making 625 hp....stock block....You will need to get the air/fuel mixture corrected with a tune....

my setup is a 306, stock crank, aftermarket rods, afr 185 heads, 8.5 to cr forged pistons, edelbrock performer intak, 255 and t-rex fuel pump, with 36 lb injectors ( i know too small injectors) t trim with 8 inch crank and 3.125 pulley and i get 14 psi between 5500 and 6000. with the s trim at 10 psi i layed down 520/480 hp/trq. all of this is accomplished with no tune. another thing i neeed to do

caknox...holy mother...what cam were you running...nice heads for sure...yeah as far as block safety goes....its weird I think you either get a good one or dont...but they are always on the edge at 400+ I figure after a few good fwy pulls you'll know if you have a good block...LOL I think the key is to not hold it for a longtime like forth gear on the freeway pinned. Just ripping through the gears is not to much load....or launching on slicks at the track....if my motor can make 600 I will keep it in 500 range for safety...I think 500 should be enough for the street....not like its guna hook at that anyways hahaha

5.0kid you have a pretty cool set up...is that gt40 crate motor? Hyper pistons and all? making 478? I shoulda done that to my old hatch and called it a day, I was afraid of boosting on it....but I did run a 100 shot car made 375.....ha

yeah hyper and everything and its done me a good 2 years along with many times to the track and many street miles. never had a problem and that is with a very conservative tune we had it over 500 and i told my tuner to take it down to make it safer and more streetable.

Thats friggin bada$$....I was in the middle of building budget/mild set up like that....if you start spinnin in 3rd just by rolling on the throttle....your a man...LOL

Question guys...what cooling system are you running? I had an issue getting my inlet tube on radiator to clear SC pulley? What fan also? A Mark vII or III whatever is humungoid....
