EFI to Carb FPR??
Hey guys i'm lookin for a way to convert my EFI system to carb and retaining the Original Fuel Pump. my dad was telling me about this Fuel Pressure Regualtor that has a Return line but is made for carb? anyone heard or know how i could make this work?

what i did was use the one of the stock fuel lines and put 3/8 hose on each end. one in the front one ataches to a fpr and then to an inline filter then to carb. the back one goes into fuelpump then to an inline filter(metal) then into the tank. i took the pump out of the tank and just put a piece of hose in for my pick up and thats the only thing on it. i was told (dont know how true) that there isnt a regulator that will cut pressure from 80-90 pounds down to the 8-9 pounds that carbs run

you used your stock fuel lines???
im also converting to carb. i am using a 650 holley double pumper 347 block. i have a stock 5.0 fuel system. what can i still use that is stock? how much fuel line did you use? were are you at gph? 110,150? im trying to cut some costs, while trying to plumb and complete a fuel system.
any help would be appreciated

do not reuse the stock pump even with a return style regulator you will eventually have problems and the pressure will always creep high.
either get the right insert for the tank or sump it and run an external electric fuel pump or mechanical pump and you will be much happier.

i ran the stock fuel line (just 1 not both) for the under side of the car. I ran a 3/8 hose from where the fuel line is in the fender well to the carb. and from the where the line goes up by the axel i ran a 3/8 hose from there on. i just felt safe useing the metal line than running complete 3/8 hose from front to rear

oh ok i understand now you used -8AN over the rear end and over the front fender, okay.
what components did you buy? i.e. fuel filter, new fuel pump, anything else stock or do i have to replace mostly everything when im doing the swap and plumbing.
by the way how much line did you buy? is 20 feet over kill for a notchback?

You can use the stock fuel pump with your carb with no problems, as long as you use a regulator that's designed to handle the higher pressure. The Holley regulator is only rated to around 20psi, and will eventually fail. I used a Mallory billet regulator (about $80) that is rated to 70psi, and adjustable down to 3psi, and it works fine. There are other brands that will work, but they'll run you a few more dollars. Mine's not that old, but I believe Joel5.0 has run a stock pump with his carb for over 2 years?. Maybe he'll chime in.
