C&L MAF 73mm VS 76mm

C&L MAF 73mm VS 76mm
after doing some research ive found that i can gain up to 10hp from a bigger maf.
i have alot of bolt on's and mod's, yet i still have the stock MAF.....
im planing on ordering a C&L MAF, but unsure if i should use a 73mm or 76mm
i still have stock head's, they are ported and polished, but still flow like crap.
so im thinking the 73mm maf would be a better choice?
anyone out there buy a new MAF and felt a difference with the butt dyno?
just trying to get some advice on these MAF's as i have no clue whitch to buy
THANKS!

The problems with aftermarket MAF's is their calibrations are never fully equal to those of the stock calibrated MAF. It gets slightly worse when they are run with a cold-air tune. I am not trying to sway you away from the C&L, but many people that I have read(but not experienced) about have had difficulties with them. The stock MAF calibration will only limit so much airflow into the motor even with the larger C&L housing. This can be easily fixed if you have a self tuner like PMS or Tweecer. However, I would reccomend a MAF from Pro-M. I have ran the summit 75mm MAF(identical to Pro-M) and had good results. I am now running a larger lightning MAF(90mm) and so far had good results from it. The only problem is you need a self tuner for the lightning. Considering you're running FI, a larger MAF seems to be a logical step.

see that is what i was worryed about.
i was told that the "tubes" of the MAF's are made to a certain size to trick the ECU to thinking its still a stock MAF, but it flow's alot better.
but i am unsure of how this all works.
maybe ill have a look at the summit one.

I know that the stock MAF flows approx. 550cfm while the C&L is around 800(for the 76mm), I know on my car, I accidentally broke my summit MAF and had to run the stock one for about a month. Since I have a Tweecer, I was able to change the MAF calibration to around 900cfm. It seemed to work great. However, that stock tube was just too small. Another company to check out is PMAS(Proffessional Mass Air Systems). They are a direct competitor to Pro-M. I do not know any info about them. However, a calibrated 75mm Maf can be had for about $180 from them.

see im not sure how that works with my car, as i dont have any fancy computer stuff!
id hate to spend $150-220 on a MAF that is just going to make me burn rich or lean becasue the ECU is all out of wack!

sound's good to me.
i have a fender CAI, into a 70mm bbk throttlebody&EGR, into a PP typhoon intake, matched to the port&polished head's, stock headers, bbk offroad H pipe, to flow's
so other after this and header's only the head's are holding me back.:0
