Its always there but not a constant rythme... i do have the timing advanced to aorund 14 with 87octane... is that considered pinging?

without hearing it, it could be either an exhaust leak or a lifter tap

Under WOT I'm sure that 5.0 is pinging with 14 deg. timing on 87 octane! ...Could be lifter, rocker....

Could easily be exhaust leak....good place to start is header bolts. And timspony has a point. If your running regular take it back down to 10*

You will be fine lol. And for the 14 deg and 87, I run it all the time and no problems. But maybe its because I have a carb idk.

well i found out what it was... i was literally staring at the motor running, just going over it carefully to see if somthing is tapping somthing, and i felt wire 5 and it was vibrating more then the others... so i follow it up to the cap, and it was snug on there... followed it down to the plug, and i stare at it and its literally moving around, so i twist the wire and hte whole plug turns with it...

tighten it up, no more ticking
