Do I need to modify eec to change injector size?
I have a 93 notch 5.0 and I am looking to change the injector size to the 24lb ones I have. I have a 70mm cobra maf calibrated for these injectors. Can I run this maf and injector setup with my stock eec. If not what do I need to change in order to run larger injectors. I had a 87 notch with sd before this so I havent messed with injecors to much. Thanks for the help ahead of time.

If you use the 1993 cobra maf & 24lb/hr injectors you NEED to get the 1993 cobra computer. The computer expects a particular MAF and expects 24 lb/hr
A stock computer would not work properly if you used the 24s and 93 cobra maf
Unfortuantely for all, for some reason (??) the 93 cobra computer is not as aggressive in some respects when compared to the previously used computers

Timing differences between A9L and X3Z are pretty minimal.
I didn't notice a performance difference between A9L and X3Z.
But the X3Z does allow one to run 24Lb injectors without a 'custom tune' or 'calibrated' MAF, which means less risk that the tune will be haywire.
And the Decel Fuel Shut Off strategy in the X3Z could actually improve economy.
I agree,
The car isn't going to run right using a A9*, Cobra MAF, and 24's.
Swap the A9* for an X3Z and it will work.
Or
Swap the Cobra MAF for a meter calibrated to work with the 24's and A9* ecu...
Or
Invest in hardware from www.TwEECer.com or www.Moates.net, and make the programming changes to the ecu.

I got a Cobra ECM if you want to go that way $175 if you want it. I bought a car that had it and the car would not run right cold it had 42 inj. in it and the mass for the 42 but it would not work with the Cobra ECM took me a Hr to finally look at the ECM and find out it was not the right one I put a A9L in it problem fixed so I know it is good I was driving the car around.
