K i got a 1990 gt w/ 306, e303 cam, typhoon upper n lower,just a mild build..the battery is relocated to trunk...the other day was driving up the road and some idiot pulled out right in front of me.. had to stomp brakes, went side ways, got it back...then my car started reading over 18 volts for battery..got out checked every thing,nothing out of odinary..so drove home and still reading over 18 thenwhen i cut it off the battery was fizzing out water or acid or whatever...put diff battery in same thing....any ideas?

It is the voltage regulator in the alternator. I think you may have to get a whole new alternator. Don't run it like that, it could burn up anything electrical in the car.

alright also i forgot when i unplugged the pos on battery car would run but not rev up or anything...that sound right for the regulator too?

just go get a new alt........if you continue to drive it like such you will boil your battery and cook it!!
