Default my brakes are driving me crazy

hey guys, recently I made a post about my 95 cobra having problems with the brakes. What its doing is when I'm about to make a complete stop it kicks the pedal out a little and makes a bad crunching noise that can be felt throught the car. My rotors were in pritty bad shape in the front so I changed them but I'm still having the same problem. The only thing I haven't tried yet that I've been told was to bleed the brakes. I'm going to try it tomorrow but I don't understand how this would help with my problem? Its probably because I don't know anything about abs though. I was recommended to take the car in to ask for a free brake inspection but they don't do that in my area and I was quoted $300 just to look at the brakes.. I'll try bleeding the brakes and hope it helps any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks and sorry for all the questions

Did you replace the pads when you did the rotors? You could try and pull a code if its a abs issue it may throw one.

yes I just replaced the pads front and rear. I didn't change the rear rotors but they don't look bad at all. I had the codes ran and nothing came up for brakes but would I need a special code reader (sorry I forgot the actual name) for that or just a regular one?

No, a typical scan tool would pull all the codes. But i dont think bleeding the brakes will make a differnce. Have you checked the wheel bearings? and caliper mount to make sure its all snug?

your problem sounds like premature ABS activation, if ya have ever driven a 90's chevy truck it prolly had the same issue. try pullin the abs fuse an see if it still does it, that will atleast help ya narrow the problem down

that is most deff the abs kicking in. one of your abs sensors is either covered in metal shavings and cant read the exciter ring anymore or the ring is broken or the sensor itself is bad. bleeding your brakes will do nothing for this problem. start looking around at other shops and explain to them what you are feeling they will know exactly whats wrong. tell them it feels like the abs is kicking in right as your about to come to a complete stop and they will know exactly what to look for.

ok I just went for a drive after removing the fuse and the problems gone. would it hurt anything if I left the fuse out until I can take it to a shop to have it fixed? also I know it depends on what it is exactly but just trying to get somewhat of an idea of what its going to cost? like a couple hundred or thousand plus?

You just need to narrow down which sensor is bad. Try cleaning them all, and if one looks beat up, or broken, replace it.

It won't hurt anything to have the fuse pulled. You just won't have ABS.
