Thumbs up Need Help Asap

i need to figure out how to tighten my tensioner so my belt fits, i have a 95 gt 5.0, and just finding a belt took 3 days, i can turn the tensioner so it gets tight, but it wont stay that way, how do i get it to lock in place when i tighten it

It is spring loaded you just put a socket on the pulley on the tensioner to release the tension and slip the belt in. It is usually easiest to put the belt on the tensioner and release the tension and slip the belt on the idler. Are you sure you have the right belt and that you have it routed properly?

the belt is shorter then my last one and i still cant get it to fit, i think im doing it wrong, when i put the socket in and turn the belt gets tighter not loser, where can i find a diagram on belt routing

the belt routing diagram is on the black piece of plastic tha covers the radiator and headlights. I have a link i hope it will work.

Im a looking on carquest website and that belt you have is wrong. I crossed the part number over. I believe they sold you a belt for a cobra. The number for a cobra belt is K061045(notice they have similiar numbers) and a GT is K061058 (they will very slightly from part store to part store but carquest starts theirs with KO).
