Default help! car wouldn't shut off!!

I was doing a base idle reset and then i reconnected the negative cable, unplugged the IAC. I go to start it and it almost stayed running and died, then I started it again and it sounded really bad and would not shut off. I touched the cable to the post and it started running. WTF!!

if im understand right, i bet your starter solonoid is staying open and the starter is stayin engaged if as soon as you hook up your battery and she starts turning over. but thats just an idea.

That what its doing, it not running, its the starter going possibly. I just unplugged the fuel cutoff switch in hatch. When i connected battery in didn't run out of fuel, but i think that b/c the battery was disconnected when i unplugged it.

So i just replaced the starter solenoid and when i connected the battery the starter wouldn't just start cranking without turning the car on. So i thought i fixed the problem, till i went to start it up and the starter just kept cranking again. WTF...i've never heard of anythink like this.

The small wire that connects to the solenoid, take it off. W/ a test light, have someone hold the key in the crank position and check for power at that wire, when they release the key, power should no longer be present. If it is, there's a problem w/ the electrical part of the ignition switch located on the steering column

i had a friend hold the ignition in the crank position and when i connected battery i didn't see any reading at all on my vom meter. The car actually fired up and turned off when the ignition was turned off.
