Default Cold Air Intake

What advantages would a Cold Air Intake be verses removing the air silencer and using a flat K&N filter?

Default RE: Cold Air Intake

It has been proven that it flows more with the removed air silencer and a K&N. Only advantages of the CAI is the sound and the engine dress up.
