Spider gears help!!!!!!
Ok so i have a 8.8 rear from an 87 in my 91 and the t lock discs managed to sheer off there tabs. so i bought the ford aftermarket carbon fiber disc kit and installed them per the instructions. Well when i have the two bigger gears wit the clutch paks on i can install them without a problem but when i align the spider gears and then turn the gears i can not get the spider gear to go back in. I have used the splines of the axle shaft to turn the bigger gears but my spider gears hit the wall of the carrier and it all jams up.............. Any one have any idea wat the problem is and or wat im doing wrong or not doing???

So the diff is out of the housing and you can't get the spiders in? You know they have to both be rotated in at the same time right? Any chance of posting some pics so we can see what's happening?

i can try to get picture later today..... but i know they rotate in at once and i can get them to fit in between the two main gears but when i am rotating the gears to line up with the pinion shaft holes as the gear rotate towards the closed part of the unit the back of the spider gear hits the wall of the unit ...... ill try and get a picture off line and i can art in where it hits if necessary

make sure the axle is out. Line the two gears up right across from each other(push the pin through just to make sure) then dont rotate the large gears with the axle. While holding the smaller gears in place spin them easy and they will roll right up into place. This pushs the axle gears out against the differetial and allows more room for the spiders. It just takes a little patiance and be careful of your fingers. When you get close to getting them over the hole you can take a small screwdriver and get it centered.
