Help Me Decipher these Engine Block Codes

Default Help Me Decipher these Engine Block Codes

ok went to my junkyard today and decieded to write down the engine block codes in search of a 351W.

i dont have a great eye to identify them so i wrote down some codes. i have 3 and im pretty sure one of them, is a cleveland.

FIRST ONE: 1974 f150 ford
VIN:f51hr001451
firing order is 13726543
(left front of valve cover) ul580ba
(side of valve cover)d7te-9c485-btb


SECOND ONE: 1979 Ford Bronco
VIN: U151HLFC7227
(HEADER EXHAUST ID) D5AE-8481-AB

THIRD ON: 1972 Ford Explorer
Firing Order: 15426378
Intake manifold id:C9AE9425-B

HELP ID THESE!!!!

the first one u listed in the 74 f150 has the 13726548 firing order that is a 351 windsor unless they stuffed a newer ho 302 in there..

easiest way to tell if it's a 351 is just look around the distributor, mainly looking at the height of the block where it meets the intake, right there 302's are very short, and 351's are much taller. so if you cant tell by looking at it just look down there and that should help you out some

you know i didnt count the number of bolts. hopefully that helps.
i heard an older 302 has more nickel in it.
but i couldnt eyeball any of them.
i know the first one was pretty wide and the thermo. was in the timing cover

13726548 is a 351 w firing order or 302 ho.

most people dont know "codes" we know what to look for and we're telling you that.....
so i guess, head back and take some pics, the first one is probably your best bet on a 351W but be aware it won't be a roller cam motor

Count the valve cover bolts.

351W & 302 = 6 bolts
351C = 8 bolts

351W from 77 and up have 12 intake manifold bolts. A 351W from 77 and older have intake 16 bolts.

351W has the thermo in the intake. The 351C has it in the block.

That should help immensely.

351W:
69-70 C9OE-B
71-74 D2AE-BA, D4AE-DA
75-77 D4AE-AA

351C-2V:
70-74 D0AZ-D

351C-4V:
71 D0AE-J, D0AE-G, D2AE-CA

351M:
75-80 D5AZ, D7TE-A2B big block bellhousing & motor mounts.
