Default 1.7 Rockers won't fit GT40 Heads...?

Hey guys, if you have read my last post this head swap has been quite a hassle. Another problem I have is that I bought some 1.7 rockers from crane, but they won't fit in the heads. There is not enough clearance for the fulcrum bottles to screw in. I'm quite irritated right now since I just spent the money on these things and now I can't install them. Maybe I'm doing some wrong? Maybe the valves are too big? The problem I don't get is the stock peds fit just fine, why won't the 1.7's work? Thanks for any help guys.

Are you sure you have the correct pedestal rockers.

That's correct, I have the right ones. I'm looking at them right now. I don't know why, they just won't fit.

Make sure you have the flat part of the fulcrum facing up. One side is flat and the other curved.

Just tried to install them again and still no fit. I have the instructions that were posted. Printed them out before the package even got here, but it just doesn't want to work. After looking at it, the bolts for the rockers are too short... Wow...

Well right now I'm having bigger problems. I did the head swap, finally got everything back together and torqued down correctly, but now the car won't start. It gets fuel, and fires but won't stay running. I'm trying to figure out how to set the idle for the car that might be the problem but I think I'm having some problems because of smoke in the engine bay. Everything is back together, torqued down properly. I just swapped the heads and alternator and my belt won't fit anymore. Since I swapped heads do you think I have to bump down the timing? Need serious help with this. Thanks.

You need to post some pictures of the heads and rockers and post a picture of the part numbers. If your belt won't fit anymore you just have the routing wrong.
