i prefer the c-4 but like everyone else says it depends on the use of the car and what YOU really prefer

i rarely drive my car on the highway so the overdirve will not be a loss. the reason why i want a new trans is bc my AOD needs a rebuild and i would rather upgrade the trans. i think i will be goin with the C4 because it is cheaper and im on a tight budget. i have a street set up with gt40 heads, e cam, typhoon intake. in the future im thinking about either a 347 or blower.

So if i get a c4 and it doesnt have overdrive, what will happen if i drive on the highway?

What gears does the car have?? ...why not just rebuild the AOD and change the TC and maybe add a shift kit?

i have 4:10 gear and then i have a transgo shift kit and a trans cooler already on my AOD. if i rebuild my AOD and get a custom stall (edge racing), billet servo, hardened input shaft etc. will it be just as good as a c4?

Yup you will be just fine. With the 4.10's highway driving would be crazy. I have the stock 2.73's and I am at 2500 at around 70 so with 4.10s you would be up around 3500 or more. I don't feel like doing the conversion to find out so thats an est.

Only reason i went to c4 was i went through 4 T5's in one summer....that was street driving and the ocassional weekend drag race...Plus launching at 5,000 RPMS and power shifting at 5500,pry didnt help either....

when my aode decides to go i'll be buying the c4 w/ brake from that company. good price and haven't heard anything but good things about them. plus its going to be sweet launching off the brake, going to put my yukon axles to the test.

for you tho since the cars already setup for an auto i'd stick with it. either beef up the aod or go c4, but if i were you i'd go c4 so you have nothing to worry about.

if you want to see how it will be on the highway and the car still moves with the aod just put it in 3rd and drive it around that's what it will be like with the C-4 3rd is 1to1 and 3rd in a c-4 is also 1to1
