stock 351 heads also have cooling passages that run thru the intake. But when put onto a 302 the intake and gasket just blocks it off.

the early 351 windsor heads had larger intake ports and slightly larger intake and exhaust valves, the exhaust port was the same, the good years were from 69 thru 74 after that they all sucked!

what you most likely saw on the 302 were 69- early 70's 351 heads which carry the casting number of c9oe or d0oe......they have small cumbustion chambers which will raise compression than late model factory 351 heads ....I have a set of c9oe heads that were lightly ported and had chevy manley valves installed 1.94/ 1.50's and they have performed well in my 66

well yea that was kinda the point....... you just cant use 302 bolts with with them without the reducers so in otherwords..... they're MADE for the 351 block but you can easily fit them on the 302.
btw you can easily get the reducers from jegs.

It wouldn't fit. 351W intakes are wider due to a taller deck height.
