will an E cam help me
this may sounds like a stupid question, but could someone explain what a stall is and what it does...i plan on doing heads cam and intake at the end of this summer as well and im just not sure about what that is. thanks so much
it helps maximize your performance by helping your engine reach it's powerband much quicker when driving an automatic car. we all know an automatic that's properly set-up will pretty much rape any manual driven car.
but if you're driving a 5-speed with your gt then it doesnt apply to you.

oops i missed that. well we will see how finances are at the end of summer. i dont know how many more of these 60+ hour weeks i can take. might as well port the intake while its off. which is the port that needs it the most?
how long would a cam swap take? new chain too. it will be done in my drive way with the standard tools

OMG, dont port or try anything with a die grinder, please. you just dont do one port, you first gasket match them all and then you play with maxing one or more ports to match others. best for novice is gasket match to smoothing of walls but to smooth on intake is bad
cam swap, intake off heads off, rad out, accessories off, water pump off, timing cover off. id say 8 hours

its never a stupid question if it pertains to info you dont know about. a stall is a torque converter. all autos have them. to make it as clear and simple. its a clutch/flywheel for auto. bascially when you engaged the clutch its say about 1200 rpms right? stock stall engages fully at 1200 rpms [ ithink] now when you go larger stall. o by the way stall is the speed of the converter. bascially think of it like a manual the higher you let out the clutch the more power you got transferred. but when you get a larger stall youre letting the car leave at that much higher speed. so its actually slipping to it hits that specific rpm. this may sound bad but its good for autos but you do have to take precautions when going larger stall. larger stall=more slipage. more slipage=more heat more heat=less tranny life... this is why you get a cooler. same with a clutch, clutch gets to hot it will glaze over and become crap. thats why yo ushould really never hot lap your car. run after run when a manual.

so you think i should just gasket match and call it a day? im thinking new balancer too, whatcha think?
also, why does it say that the ecam is legal for 5 speeds. mine is an auto, will the sniffer be able to tell? its the same motor, just different trans.
