starting problem

Default starting problem

i can not start my mustang with turning the key i just replaced the cellinoid. and it still wont crank until i connect the 2 posts with a screw driver. then it starts right up. would you guys think its a ignition switch?

the small wire going to the selonoid in the crank position should have 12v on it, use a test light to check, if it is not hot in crank, trace wiring back to ignition switch , elec portion of it may be bad

well i figured it was from there back to the ignition. i already bought a new switch it was like 13 dollars lol... i figure i might as well change it while i have the steering column apart. the guy i bought it from swore it was the starter and wanted to argue with me till i was dead but i dont think its that cause i wouldnt be able to start at all right?

alright i took out the plastic piece fromt he ignition sswitch.. it looks like the part that has to two yellow wires in it is melted alil up there? any advice

Yeah, repair the wires and put in a new switch.
