Helping a friend with a carbed H/C/I
I was helping a friend try to figure out what to get for his carbed 302 build. I was wondering what you guys thought about this setup for getting in the 375-400 hp range. Heads, intake, and cam. The cam is just a suggestion as I'm going to tell him his best bet is to get something custom ground to the rest of the top end and based on what he wants the car to do. Any input would be great. I already tried to talk him into going with something with a little bigger C.I.s but he has a fresh 302 sitting in his garage and would like to use that to save a little money because it will be more of a budget build.

He says it will be driven back and forth to the track, so it will see street use, but he wants it to be able to be flogged pretty hard at the track too. On the canfield website they said that with a simlar setup 306 they got 414hp out of it. I know that sometimes companies get the best results possible and use that for a #, but was just wondering if this would be a decent performer for the money.

If he's really on a budget I'd go a set of Patriot 185's Comp XE270HR cam, Edelbrock Perf RPM intake and Holley 670 Street Avenger carb should put him there without a problem.

Really? How 'bout this setup, think it'll get the job done? Just curious because I wanted to see how I did.
