I dont know if this happened to any of you guys but when in fifth gear when I decellerate it keeps poping out of gear what do you guys think the problem can be? Does it hafta do with the shifter or is it the tranny itself?

your synchros may be worn inside your tranny, i doubt it would be the shifter

I don't think it would be a synchro since there only job is to allow the gears to mesh. When in gear there is a spring clip arrangement that allows the gears to stay located sort of like a detent would work. I would guess that on your 5th, this isn't installed correctly.

the syncro ring lines up with duplicate teeth on the gear that hold the slider to lock the gear in position. if the teeth on the gear are worn and/or if the splines at the edge of the slider are worn it will be difficcult for the gear to stay in position. it may hold under load but when load is removed under deceleration the parts can separate. a new syncro ring only allowed easier shifting.
