Could be something as simple as tires needing balancing. I've had problems like that before due to worn out tie rods and or pinion gear after installing gears.

I'd go with mjr46 on this one, make sure you have good tires also I had a set of cheap tires that would never balance, never made any sense to me. Are you wheels in good shape and not bent?

it could be something as simple as out of balance tires. could also be something like tie rod ends. the car shakes violently when they get really bad a lot of times.

Id check out your driveshaft it could be the ujoints ive even heard that a steel driveshaft will do that after you install steeper gears possible an aluminum driveshaft could help a little with the stick vibe

How many miles on car? Ever changed your u-joints?
I had the same problem a month ago with my 94 GT 5spd.

It was fine around town but after sixty and one time i gunned it to 90 'Whoa!' major shaking of the stick.

I dropped the drive shaft to change the u-joints and the front one had worn one of the nipples to about half the size it should been. I bought a set from advance, they were termed 'heavy doodie' and had a liftime warranty, 40 bucks got both of em. totally fixed my problem.

Like others have said if your steering wheel is shaking it is your tires. They need balanced or they may be worn out.
