Default check engine light

well my check engine light started coming on the other day. it stays on for like 2 seconds then goes off. then like 10 seconds later it comes back on for like 2 seconds then just repeats itself. it starts doing it after it warms up. with it not staying on but for like 2 seconds at a time is that long enough for me to run any tests? the light doesnt affect performance, idling or just going down the road it just bugs me. any ideas? thanks

Try running your codes.

This is the cheap easy way to do it, I'll see if I can't find a better site though this one here sucks compared to the one I learned it from a while ago

It means nothing until you pull the codes. If you're not comfortable using the above procedures, you can go almost anywhere these days and get someone to pull the codes for free. Just don't buy the parts from them until you've done some research on the particular code(s.)

That is the best advice. Don't buy the parts from autozone or wherever you take it. For example if they pull a code and it comes back to a egr valve that does mean it is a egr valve there could be something else wrong. You need to troubleshoot it.
