Default E7 Heads

I've heard mixed reviews about these heads. I don't have thousands of dollars to by edelbrock heads, gt40's, victor jrs, tfs hi ports, etc. I'm just wondering how much better E7's would be on my car than the stock heads I currently have. There's a guy in my area selling a rebuilt set, asking price is 200 dollars. I figured I would offer him 150-175. Here's the info he provided, "Mustang 302 E7s heads new valves new springs good up to .560 lift if useing a roller cam exhaust runners have ben ported used for 600 or 700 miles". Any help would be really appreciated. The only reason I'm asking is because I need a new set of heads, and was just curious how much better or worse these would be. Thanks.

the e7's aren't much better than the heads that are on the 84 you have if that's the one we are talking about... a decent used set of gt-40's can be had for 300-400 bucks

I'm only interested because I can't find a set of gt40s in my local area. Also, the fact these have been rebuilt is a big plus to me. My heads are pretty much shot. The car sat for a while and the seals are just ****. I'm not worried about performance right now. I just want my engine to be tight.

the thing you are doing wrong, is looking in your local area.

have you tried ebay, craigslist, or the classified section?

I've been searching on craigslist for about 3 months. That's what I mean by local area. I don't really mess around on ebay. I've gotten some bad deals on there before. No1 on here has explained why E7's are so terrible. I'm just looking for pretty much stock replacement. All the stock heads I've looked at on craigs have thousands of miles on them and need to be rebuilt. I'm just trying to avoid the rebuild process. Let's remember I live in Michigan and every1 is pretty much poor haha.

well i'm using my stock heads because of lack of money right now... they're getting ported and rebuilt... costing me a fair amount to do that (labor on porting). I would say (I'll get bashed for saying it) if you want a somewhat stock replacement and more expensive heads aren't in the near future... go for it.... if they are in very good shape and they truly are rebuilt and brought back up to near new condition... $175 isn't bad.... do they have new roller rockers? I would definitely make sure everything on them is done well.

Guys... don't bash me to hard! lol

I just know from what I'm doing now... and man when you don't have money for expensive parts.... I know the feelin!

and you said you didn't care for any more performance out of them.... Why not go for these heads... again only if they were rebuilt RIGHT!
