Default pressed in head studs

is there any way i can pull them myself at home. im taking my heads in this weekend. he wants 30 dollars each head to pull the studs. i'd rather pocket that money.

F'in awesome. yea that'll work. lol cant believe i didnt think of that.

when i told him it still had head studs pressed in hes like "oh ok, yea no prob but its 30 bucks each head"

im like wtf? cant be that hard to remove.

crazy old bastard isnt gettin ma 60 bucks. ahaha well that 60 bucks will turn around and pay to have the stud location milled, tapped and have the new studs installed. WOOT! free head stud install.

Hes going to mill the pads, tap and install studs for 60 dollars? WOW talk about working for dirtcheap. I hope its done right with the correct tooling or you will end up with useless heads and wacked valvetrain geometry

yea

for the pair
180 dollars for larger valves instaled
60 dollars for pads milled, tapped and installed studs

and if i need it, bigger spring seats cut for 60 dollars(he said hes done this set up many times and has never had to do it)

Just talking from a machinist standpoint, that is ridiculously cheap, almost scary cheap, but everyone has there own price, just hope the pad is milled at the correct angle and the stud location is right thats all.

he'll have all the parts and he says he knows whats goin on and what im doin. ive had a few friends take stuff to him and they were very happy with his work. plus i dropped the name of the person that uses him a lot so he said he was happy to do the work for me.

Make sure you use something like ARP lube between all the washers and the nut before you try this or you will snap the stud off.
