Running Rich..
i have stock headers to an off-raod X pipe to flows w/ no cats.. i have a short shifter too and after i had a new clutch put in, the plastic snaps that hold teh cover down broke off. It doesnt bother me that much, but when people come in my car they say they think its running too rich. Could this because i have no cats? is there a way too check and see if i am too rich in my air/fuel mixture? how do i adjust it? i appreciate the help..

Running Rich..
..i guess the reason why they are saying they think its running rich is because after driving for a relativly short period of time, it smells of fumes that i guess i can notice becuase they are everyday to me. I have heard some say beofre the the lack of cats can cause this.. Now about the coputer codes thing, is this something that i have to take to a shop or can i run tests and get the codes myself? Please explain.

pull the neg cable off for about a min. then put back on start car then recheck codes..what year car? I take it it's an 88? if ti has mass air clean the unit, clean the T/B ,egr and check the tps .95-.99. if all is well check throttle angle.

yep, you are correct an 88 with mass air since Cali Only.. will the codes be displayed on the computer itself? will do all those things you mentioned also and see what happens..

Someone tried telling me the same, that is was running rich. They're blowing smoke up your ***. Without cats, it's going to have more toxic chemicals coming out, smelling like it's rich. My Bronco has two in series cats and has a crappy motor and smells better than my healthy 5.0 catless '86.
