TB
I have a 70mm throttle body on my 94 gt right now but its a professional products one and from what i understand they are pretty lousy. I am having a idling issue with my car.. it takes a few seconds for it to idle down at red lights and stuff. My tuner said if i put a stock TB back on it that it would probably take car of my problem. I cleaned my iac, maf, and still did no good with that issue. It did help my idle a lot but not the steady high idle at a stop light for like 4 seconds. I do have a 76mm maf on my car. let me know what you think. this problem is driving me crazy. Maybe too high fuel pressure?

How about when you rev it from idle to lets say 3k rpm, then get off the gas, does it also take that long for the higher idle to drop back down to normal? Mine does that but maybe not 4 seconds, more like 2 seconds or so. I'll be driving the car normally then come to a stop and the idle will chill around 1100 for 2 seconds or so then drop down to around 850ish 800...
I'm not 100% sure with the 94+ but with the 88-93 it's a very common thing to happen as the computer has it stay a little bit above idle and then drops it down to normal after coming to a stop... Common issue/problem if it is a problem, but unaware how to fix it and all my friends have the same thing happen to them.

guys, i have already had this exact same problem in my 90lx. what happened with mine was the entire iac motor had went bad. once i replaced ith with an aftermarket one i have not had a problem since then. here is a link to where you can find your iac 94 mustang http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...0%201&comp=LRS
now im not saying that this is either one of your problems, im just telling you what the solution to my problem was and i had the exact same sypmtoms as you guys had. i would do a little more checking though first because they are kind of expensive.

when you switched out your TB did you set your TPS within range and then set base idle? i have a PP 70mm TB and there is nothing wrong with it, IMO its excelent quality.
if you dont know how...
-TPS adjustment: with the key turned to "on" position but without the engine running, get a multi meter and tap into the green wire on the tps sensor. while tapped into the green wire ground the multimeter and it should read inbetween .6 to 1.01 volts.
if it does not read between there you need to unscrew the two phillips head screws just enough to be able to adjust it back and fourth. until you get your desired setting and then bolt it back down.
-base idle: with your engine running unhook your IAC and back off the jam nut and then use a torques bit to set your idle screw. once youve set your idle between 750 to 900rpms re tighten the jam nut and plug back in your IAC.

could i of messed my idle up by changing my tps from 1.00 to .92? It will idle right at 900 sometimes and other times it just dives to where the car almost cuts off. I cleaned my iac while i havd it off. could my iac be shot?

No.... the TPS could be anywhere from .5 vdc to 1.19 vdc and not cause any issues. The TPS setting to a specific value withing that window is a myth.... that 900 rpms idle is a little too high.
