Lightbulb Distributor Question

Hi guys/girls... Ford fanatics! I was looking through the pictures and you guys have some real nice rides. I want to upgrade my distributor and I think I want to go with MSD. The MSD distibutor for my car would be MSD 8582. Does anyone have this and how would they rate it? A mechanic told me the stock ford one is better.

I found this one on ebay and it seems like a steal of a price.

Any info that you can help me with is much appreciated. Thanks.

Actually "B" the mechanic is dead wrong in reference to that distributor the OP listed, cause THE 8582 is BETTER THAN ANY oem DIZZY FOR AN SBF carbed application.......now if the OP meant the 8456 then the mechanic is right...just to clarify, cause I run the 8582 in my 85

I meant what I typed MSD 8582. The same seller also has a pretty good cam, lifters and pushrod set for sale pretty cheap. I think I might get that as well.

I assume you are carbed then???? if so then as I stated you want the MSD one cause it is a 100 times better then an oem one as advance rate is easily adjusted and more accurate then an oem one
