Seafoam is good for cleaning up some of the carbon build up. Its decent stuff Ive actually heard of people running it through the oil for a short amount of time and then changing the oil. (but I dont think I would ever do this w/o further advisment) However depending on what you want to do lucas products are incredible. The oil additive reconditions seals and will slow or stop leaks and the fuel system stuff will clean and lube up the entire fuel system. So while seafoam is good I think lucas products are much better

It's like any other fuel additive you see at the local parts store, but for some reason it gets tons of hype on the internet.

Facts!:

1- It will not hurt your car.

2- It will not appreciably help it.

You may notice a slight improvement in how smooth your engine runs, but it is mostly in your head. Some people just manage to convince themselves that this 8$ can of magic from the parts store just essentially rebuilt their engine....

I've put seafoam in tons of old cars that have come through my hands. Why not? it's a fuel system cleaner and cant do any harm. Just make sure yo don't expect to much.

^ I agree 100%, some people think they are saving the world with a cheap can of sludge.. I guess its a piece of mind thing..

I add diesel additive to every other tank in my truck. Does it need it? who knows but i do it anyway...

^I agree that it isn't magic in a can, nothing is...however if you've neglected to change or clean those fuel injectors properly, you will see a big improvement in throttle respose and fuel economy, follow the instructions!! As for the trans addative, I used it before and after I changed my filter, so that probably had more of an effect on the trans than the seafoam. My overall opinion is, it's worth the few dollars to keep your system clean, rather than spending several hundred dollars replacing injectors. Don't forget to replace your filters while your at it.

I've personally have seen both sides of the coin. It seems to work for somethings and doesn't work for others.
