If the guy is any kind of mechanic he would buy the computer and put it on and if it didn't fix it he would be stuck with a computer he will never need.

you do realize that there is a possibility thats its not the computer.

if the PIP in the disty is bad, the ECM will not trigger the injectors to fire... so before you get snotty with me b/c of what im saying... maybe you should listen to another guy that fixes cars.... FOR A LIVING

what is the PIP?

Profile Ignition Pickup ..... the reference pulse generated by the distributor's hall effect sensor as the reference signal for everything timing related..... spark, advance tables, and injectors pulsing.... and a typical failure in SN95 TFI distributors after some mileage/time.
