Default How to clean black stuff off a white vinyl top?

I recently picked up a '95 5.0 convertible mustang with a white vinyl top. The previous owner kept it stored inside and with the top down for long periods of time. So the top is immaculate except in a few small areas where the top has some black dirt or whatever ground into it. The dirty areas are towards the back inn the corners on either side.

I have tried various vinyl cleaners and protectants with a sscrub brush with no effect on the area.

I also tried some straight bleach with a toothbrush on a tiny dark spot and it also had no effect.

Is there any way to clean some blackness off of a white top if vinyl cleaners and bleach wouldn't do it?

I know this might sound crazy but try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Try it in a small spot first.

Someone else recommended the purple power so I picked some of it up tonight and tried it on a small spot with no effect. I tried letting it sit for a while and scrubbing it intensely with a brush.

I'll have to pick one of those up since I don't have one here. Today I tried a Clorox bleach pen and also a Tide stain pen, neither had any effect. Tomorrow I'll try to get a good picture of one of the areas to post on here.

Malco leather/vinyl cleaner has done a pretty bang up job of cleaning dirt off over all (not on the black spots). I used it on the white vinyl top, cream colored leather, and cream colored dash. I've used it for years on boats as well.

Once I get the top as clean as it will get I have a big bottle of 303 Aerospace protectant ready to go. Probably don't need something that expensive on there but it sure wont hurt!

Here is a good pic of her if anyone is interested. '95 GT with 58k original miles! All stock except for the rims, X pipe + flowmasters (main cats removed, pre cats still there for emissions) and that roll bar. 3.73 gears will most likely come soon...
