Default cam timing help

ok im really new to 5.0's and mustangs in general, but ive been hearing about having to degree in the cam and i'd like to find out what i need to be able to do this. I don't know where to change the timing under the hood to start. If anyone has a chart or a picture they can show me, or just detailed explanation of how i would go about doing this. Also are there any tools I need before I can do this? Any help would be appreciated.
