i had that msd coil, it whined liked crazy so i sold it. I'll go with a crane coil when the time comes. So, what do you guy think of my fuel pressure readings. I got 42 psi w/ vacuum hose off and 34 psi with vacuum hose on.

fp is fine but you need to drive it with the gauge tapped to the windshield and see what it does at WOT

If the car started cutting out you could have a bad Hall Effects Sensor inside the dizzy.

doesn't seem fuel related, seems like it may be ignition.....have you tried a new cap and or rotor???

i put a Accel cap & rotor on back in October. I looked under the cap and everything looked fine. I wonder if these cheap duralast wires(did in Nov) could cause something like this. Thanks alot for the help Mjr!

make sure maf is clean and I wouldn't trust so called newer tune up parts, I went through 3 new caps on my 66 that were cheap china immitations that caused a severe hesitation under load...I said there is noway new caps were bad right outta the box, finally I put a used one I had in my tool box that was a ford oem one and cured the issue......not saying it will cure your issue just trying to show you that you can't always assume cause it's new/er that all is well

i don't have maf, its SD. I know what your saying about not trusting a part b/c its new. When my started solenoid went bad, the 1st new one i put on was defective. So, should i just start replacing ignition components, starting with the cheapest first?

ahh oaky, wasn't paying attention to the year of your ride....as for replacing ignition components, try the plugs first, it could be as simple as a bad insulator on the plug, lightly mist wires with a spray bottle and look for spark arcing out...if you see any= replace wires......generally I don't like to slap parts on a car without verifying where a misfire is, but that requires proper test equipment and in your case I know you don't have an occiliscope to view the secondary ignition parade pattern and or the firing voltages, so all you can really do is try the parts replace route
