Head Gasket?
When my car hits around 3k RPM, It starts to misfire/backfire and spit a little bit. When the car is in neutral it doesn't do it as much, but especially in first gear when I get the car going the severity of the problem sometimes increases. I took it to a Ford dealership and they "think" it's a blown head gasket. I put a new cap and rotor in. wires were installed new in July, along with plugs. The dealership techs also said the #2 plug is rusty. I'm not seeing anything burning or any smoke nor smell. I also just replaced the O2 sensors. Also the fuel injector on #2 was replaced with a new one. On a compression test he said #2 had about 92psi(i think psi, idk) and it should have around 110psi.
There is a multitude of things that could cause the cylinder to have a low pressure reading
Blown head gasket
Worn Rings
Valves not seating properly (Bent valves)
Cracked block
Cracked heads
Cracked Piston
Bad Compression Test
I would start with the last one, I never trust anyone else unless i see it with my own eyes.

Simple enough to see if it's the head gasket...Just pay attention to the coolant level in your radiator. If it decreases, you know the coolant is getting burned up. You can also put your hand behind the tail pipe, and let the exhaust condense on the palm of your hand for a few seconds...If it smells like antifreeze then you know.
