I am with Sonic. Go electric fan. I had a flex fan in the pass and did not like it. It pushed lots of air, but made a ton of noise(like a bi-plane). You could see the blades flex and narrow out when rpms went up. Got a electric now and could not be happier. Staying cool and the engine revs up faster. If you have a stock alternater you may want to upgrade. GL

There are plenty of write-ups on the net on how to hook up an electric fan. I have a diagram my brother, who is an electronics genius in cars, helped me draw up to wire a Taurus 2 speed elec fan. Let me know if you would like it.

This is how I am wiring my fan. The fuse sizes may be wrong because I do not know the actual amp draw. For the high side relay you have to use a 70 amp, this will help when the fan kicks on, there is a large amp spike for a few milliseconds then it returns to normal draw. Also I didnt draw it in here but I know you have to put a diode in at the fan. "This is because the fan turns into a generator for a few seconds as it spins freely and the power it puts out can harm the fan itself and shorten its life." The section in quotes is what I read on a 4x4 site that did this install, I dont know if its true but I wouldnt risk it.

I hope this helps out.

I got my fan out of a 6-cyl Cougar. The fans from the ford 6-cyls work great, I think the only unusable ones are from the minivans, cause they are double fans. I paid $30 I think for the fan and wired it myself.
