Default Air Bag Warning Light

The air bag light is blinking, sometimes if I shut off the engine and restart it the light will stop blinking. Has anyone else had this happen?

Yes mine does it too, count the number of flashes and post it and I can tell you what it means. Its a diagnostic trouble code for the airbag system.

mine does this too, I took out the air bag to find out one of the wires on the connector was cut, I just disconnected the plug, as I have heard it may go off if you dont know what youre doing.

It should just flash a specific number of times, unlike the check engine light which flashes a series of numbers to indicate fault codes. One note on unplugging the air bag system, it does have a back up battery power supply so if you don't disconnect that as well you will still get the flashes on the light, and the system will still be active. Just something to watch out for....

A bad clock spring could be the cause to.

This drives me crazy. I don't notice any sequence to the blinking-it blinks continous until I shut off the engine. Does this mean there is a problem in the air bag system or is this just a pesky little light. Again if I shut off the engine and start it back the light may not blink.
