Default ID of heater hoses?

Since my heater core is busted Im going to bypass it so I can get home. My car is a couple miles from me right now so I cant check myself. I am having someone bring me up a hose union but I need to know the ID of the hose so I can have them get the right size.

Thanks.

Are you trying to cap it off at the ends of the heater tube, if so the 2 ends are different sizes.

If you can find an Auto Zone buy hose number S-4354, it’s about $8.00 cut about 1" off and it fits perfectly on the ends of the heater tube.

I was mostly looking for a hose union that I could slip inside them and clamp the hoses to it.

you can go to a hardware store and get a plastic elbow fitting and tie them together. 1.50 is all it costs. i think its 5/8" but i could be wrong. may want to measure.

I tied a set of hoses together with a deep socket that was laying behind the seat one time on one of my early 80's F-150's, way back when me was just a noobie. My Father gave me a disturbing look when I told him what I had done. I drove around for probably 8 months before I changed the heater core out in the truck.
