12's will be tough, with your list of parts on a GT, unless you can shed some weight. I would add a 3.73 gear to your list, a good comp cam will also fit in your budget. Even the GT40 heads will hold you back. There are guys running 12's with GT40 heads, but they are mostly stripped cars with no smog pump, AC, PS or PBs.

It looks like you have done some homework. I agree with the 3.73 gears. Just keep reading posts of the guys around here, some of these guys have some sick rides. Someone with a lot more knowledge than I will chime in and let you know whats up. Good luck and welcome.

Definatly change the cam. That will make a bigger improvement than anything else on your list. Yes, it's a pain in the behind to do. But, you're going to do it eventually anyway, might as well do it now.

I don't see any tuners or dyno time on your list. You can bolt any parts combo on that you want. But if it's not tuned well, it will never perform up to it's potential.

I don't see any ignition upgrades, like CD box, 9mm wires, MSWD dist, etc. And that's a good thing. Your cylinder pressures will be fairly low, so the stock parts (in good condition) should work just fine.

Getting a full weight car into the 12's can be tough. Especially on a hot muggy day. You really should consider nitrous.

nos is good for a daily driver. turbo or s/c good for a race car. i also say change the cam and consider at least a 100 shot.

There are a few parts you do not need: The fuel pressure regulator and gauge, the plug wires and the dizzy. The stock parts are fine. You can keep your stock exhaust, except the crimped headers.( The H and catback are not really a hindrance unless you want the rumble; but then again you could build yourself a quiet sleeper). I'd skip the Eddy cam and get a Trickflow Stg-1(you can reuse your stock lifters if they are in good shape). Don't get the junk C&L meter. I would run the Summit MAF(I believe it is under $200 now). The Trickflow heads are good heads. You will need the 1:6 rockers & 3/8 stud. The Nitto tires are okay. Mickey Thompson E/T streets are much, much better, but wear out quicker. These are just a few things to keep in mind.
