What cam for 331 build!
Well i bought a 331 rotating assebmly with SRP forged flat tops and forged i beams, also got some Edelbrock Rpm heads with 2.02 and 1.6 valves thats getting assembled this or next week! im running 4:10s and such and suggestions on a cam the springs are rated for .575 lift so i would like a lumpy idle id prefer to get a OTS cam

stop bumping your thread!!! if noise is what you want, put a comp xe282 cam in........but the whole springs good to .575 lift not what you want to go off of...........personally if it were mine, I'd go custom, there are more benifits than drawbacks. but it's YCYMYP.

damn beat me to it!
upgrade the valvesprings too itll add less then $90 to the build and will make sure you dont float a valve (i have no idea what the seat and open pressures are on the heads).
MAKE SURE you measure ptv clearance.

call comp cams and tell them exctly what you have and they will grind you one it would be better than guessing and people telling you what they think. when you build that kind of motor and on that kind of money just call the folks that make the cam and they will know what you need!

o and here are the valve springs specs
Valve springs diameter: 1.45"
Spring installed hieght: 1.800"
Valve spring seat pressure: 110-120 lbs
Max valve lift: .575"
would that work with this cam COMP XE282HR
.565/.574
