help belt size

Question help belt size

I used to run with no smog pump but i picked up a cheap smog eliminator pully so now i neeed a new belt. they only thing different from stock now is i have underdrive pullies.

what belt size do i use with underdrive pullys?

why run the extra pulley at all??? just adds clutter to the engine bay

i could not find a belt size with my smog removed that i liked, they were too loose or too tight and i could not find something inbetween, i actually shreded a belt bec it was too tight.

anyways i got a smoking deal on it and picked up the delete pully. so i'm gonna run it.


belt length?

I agree with adder. Although I have a 89 mustang, I too got rid of my smog pump and my A/C. I do have an A/C elimination pulley there though. The only problem you may run into is what I did. The pulley's are so close together now the belt is close to rubbing against itself. But my engine is loud enough you cant hear it. Go to auto zone and bring them you're belt and just start down sizing until you find the right fit. They'll go out there with you, takes 5sec to put it on and see if it'll fit right.

Here's how I did it w/o any brackets, just a different tensioner pulley anf belt...done.
