Default Finally finished lowering the Mustang!

Wow, what a project! My stang had the original shocks, struts, springs...everything. It originally started when I broke a front spring and then this project started growing arms, legs, and heads all over the place. After the fact I found out that on top of the broken front spring, I had one bad shock, one bad strut, both quad shocks blown, and two bad ball joints. I thought the car was riding decent too. So I bought new Eibach Pro springs, new inner and outer tie rods, new sway bar end links, new KYB shocks and struts, and new lower control arms from Ford Racing.

Whole thing took me about 6 days, a 12 pack, and a bottle of apricot brandy, chipping away at it a few hours each night with a few of my friends. Almost every single bolt had to be torched to get it off, just incredible. Only casualties were sway bar end links that couldn't take the stress of the springs (long story) Really not a hard job, but need time and tools...and a big friend to put their 300 plus on the breaker bar!

Still need an alignment, but the car rides amazing! Can't believe how much better and in control if feels over bumps and around corners. Best thing I've done next to the gears.

Thanks. Didn't get CC plates, hoping I won't need them. Yeah, I only drove it a few miles because I know the alignment is way cranked. I lined up the tie rods the best I could but it's off. Hopefully this week.

Yeah especially when replacing any tie rods, you need an alignment. You'd be surpsrised at how little adjustment of those affects the toe.

So you mean it's a bad idea to run it up to 110mph after doing my alignment with a silver sharpie to match the old 100k mile tie rods and dropping the car an inch?

I've got a guy in town that does the alignments for $39. Just have to get someone to help me drop the car off. It's put away now and ready to be cleaned for spring.
