honestly.....there isnt much of a difference to really matter for the level that 99% of us are at here on the forum. some may be race tuned for a better scavanging effect but most of that is accomplish by the headers. the other part of it is the name, materials used, finish, any coating...stuff like that. i run a summit X pipe because its cheap. then run whatever mufflers you want for the sound you desire.

thats wat i was thinkn, but i know first hand, that wen u try to save a buck, you get stuck. meaning, that wen u buy "not name brand" the fit is usualy off, or it needs to be adjustd some how.and if u call, theyll tell u anything u want to hear so u can buy ther parts! might make the diff of a headache wen ur underneath getn bustd knukles cuz yur pissed! lol

you are exactly correct sir. but exhaust isnt a huge deal expecially a mid pipe. the worst thing that could get messed up is the slip joint or the flared end or hangers are done incorrectly. but my summit X pipe was cheap cheap cheap and works great, sounds great.

what about pace setter? im startn to look for cheap/er x pipes. i have a bbk x/no cats on my othr 50, but the flanges are pretty weak.i switch the mid pipe everytime for smog, so over time they got a lil distortd.
